Abstract

This book aims to sensitize professionals who work in the field of health or design, as well as those who are approaching the field of Environmental Psychology for the first time, about possible applications in their field of action to be able to provide scenarios that promote a better quality of life for its main users.

For researchers specialized in the field, the development of various models that provide novel theoretical elements for the exploration of the interrelationships between the various environmental and social factors that affect the experience of well-being or stress of patients, informal primary caregivers, or the medical corps of specialized institutions for the treatment of chronic diseases such as cancer.

The book analyzes the main environmental factors that influence health and well-being and proposes guidelines to incorporate them in the design of new medical facilities. At the same time, it describes instruments that have been developed in our context and that therefore have the psychometric properties that are indispensable for measuring the constructs that underlie the empirical development of the main predictors of environmental stress.
