Abstract

Krzysztof Sliwa, who is a Doctor in Spanish Literature from Florida State University, and a biographer, shows through this testimony the military career of Miguel de Cervantes de Saavedra, thus opposing some of his researchers, who do not deepen said study or describe the writer as a war deserter.

Throughout this story we observe how despite the vicissitudes faced by the knight with the sad figure, he emerged triumphant in his performance both as a soldier and as a writer, through the experiences lived in Italy and the Mediterranean Sea; in addition to the values that he himself demonstrates in his work.
