The present content is intended to describe the ambitious volume of the twelfth year of the MEC-EDUPAZ series, UNAM, of multidisciplinary dissemination of scientific research. It describes the editorial line that defined the theme of this twenty-fourth edition: "Sustainability of Cultural Heritage: Itineraries of Alcalá de Henares". The result of this unprecedented process of collaboration between UNIVERSIS of the University of Alcalá de Henares, and the National Autonomous University of Mexico, through its programme MEC-EDUPAZ, UNAM, which was presented by Don José Vicente Saz Pérez, Rector of the University of Alcalá de Henares.
Through the integration of multiple itineraries described by a group of high-level writers, focused on documenting the historical milestone of an emblematic city, which gained access to humanism through the founding of the University as a "city of knowledge" (Civitas Sapientae). The main focus is on documenting the urban spirit of the city's "Genius Loci", which has established so many links with the Mexican University from the 16th to the 21st century.
Even more so because both institutions share the privilege of having the recognition of "world heritage" by UNESCO.
