Commemoration of Urban Planner's Day

Abstract

The Mexican Association of Urban Planners (AMU), in conjunction with the UNAM Faculty of Architecture. The College of Urban Planners and the Association of Women Architects and Urban Planners commemorated the Day of Mexican Urban Planners in the “Enrique del Moral” Classroom of the Faculty of Architecture on November 8. Within the framework of Urban Planner's Day, the work of distinguished actors in the field of urban planning, urban development and architecture in Mexico was recognized. The Mexican Association of Urban Planners granted recognition to urban merit, with the “Carlos Lazo Barreiro” award to Architect Eduardo Rincón Gallardo Purón, and for academic research on rural and urban development, with the “Domingo García Ramos” award to Dr. Alicia Ziccardi Contigiani. Both recognized professionals for their contributions in the field of public administration and the academic life of our country. With the presence of Dr. Juan Ignacio del Cueto Ruiz-Funes, director of the UNAM Faculty of Architecture, Mtro. Juan Kaye López, president of the Mexican Association of Urban Planners, Ms. Gabriela Quiroga, president of the College of Urban Planners of Mexico, Mtro. Joaquin Álvarez Ordoñez, President of the AMU Advisory Council and 2018 National Architecture Prize, Mtro. Amando Alonso Navarrete, Director of the University Program of Metropolitan Studies at the UAM and Architect Susana Miranda, president of the Mexican Association of Architects and Urban Planners.
