Seventh Colloquium on History, Architecture, Sculpture, Urbanism and Funerary Customs

Abstract

The colloquium explores the historical, cultural and artistic values of various cemeteries, including those of Abydos (Egypt); Santa Teresa, Santa Cruz and Resurrección (Fresnillo, Zacatecas); Del Remembrance (Tecomán, Colima); Humaya Gardens (Culiacan, Sinaloa); Civil Dolores and Francés de la Piedad (Mexico City); the Municipal of Jaral del Progreso (Guanajuato); Domínguez Committee (Chiapas); Particular Veracruzano; Tarmatambo (Peru), as well as others in Puebla, Tula and Yucatán. Historical figures of Mexico, the influence of Italian artists on national pantheons, typologies of funerary monuments, restoration, heritage declarations, inventories of pantheons and the meaning of color in funerary monuments are also addressed.  It is highlighted that much of the research is ongoing, with the potential to open new paths of knowledge.
