Melvin Campos Ocampo

Abstract

Philologist, writer and lecturer in Humanities at the University of Costa Rica (UCR). With a degree in Spanish Philology and a Masters in Latin American Literature from the UCR, he has taught courses in Literary Theory, Comparative, Spanish and Latin American Literature. In addition, he has worked as a teacher of literature at the UCR. He has worked as a teacher of literature at the Universidad Estatal a Distancia and at the Universidad Nacional. He has also worked as a film analyst and critic for SINART Canal 13 and various national publications, and as an audiovisual scriptwriter for the Gandhi Centre of the University for Peace. He has been involved in the study of cultural heritage, served as president of ICOMOS Costa Rica and is a member of the International Scientific Committee for the Interpretation and Presentation of Heritage. He is also a member of the Editorial Board of the academic journal Herencia, (UCR). He has written multiple academic articles, in the field of artistic writing, and published several poems and various stories in the media. He is currently working on an ambitious literary project of six novels.
